I find beauty in the quiet details of everyday lifeโ
a flower blooming by a pond, rain falling on still water,
green fields beneath a cloudy sky, and the peaceful rhythm of village life.
Through my photography and stories, I capture the beauty of nature, slow living, travel, and the simple moments that often go unnoticed.

A Little About Me
I am Farjana Nishitaโa nature lover, photographer, and storyteller.
Photography allows me to pause for a moment and notice the beauty around me. I love photographing nature, flowers, village life, changing skies, water, and quiet everyday moments.
For me, photography is not only about taking a picture.
It is about preserving a feeling.

Slow Life
Simple moments.
Quiet places.
Peaceful mind.
Sometimes, the most beautiful stories are found in the slowest moments.
There are places we visit, and there are places that quietly become a part of us.
For me, the village has always been the latter.
Every year during Eid, I visit my in-lawsโ home in a village in Bangladesh with my family. It is a familiar place, yet every visit seems to reveal something I had not noticed beforeโa different light falling across the fields, a new shade of green, the sound of water from the pond, or simply the stillness of an afternoon.
This is the Bangladesh I know through my own eyes.
Not the Bangladesh of busy roads and crowded cities, but the quieter oneโwhere life is closely woven into the soil, the seasons, the water, and the rhythm of nature.
A Home Shaped by the Village
Like many homes in rural Bangladesh, our family home is a simple tin-roofed house.
There is nothing extravagant about it, and perhaps that is exactly what I love about it.
The house belongs to its surroundings. Greenery grows around it, ponds lie nearby, and agricultural land stretches beyond the homestead. The boundary between home and nature never feels quite clear.
Here, nature is not something kept outside the window.
It is part of everyday life.
The Village Mosque
One of the most meaningful parts of our family home is our own family mosque.
The men and children of the household gather there for prayer, and the mosque has become a quiet centre of family life.
In the village, places of worship often feel naturally connected to the rhythm of everyday lifeโthe call to prayer travelling through the open air, people walking along familiar paths, and the surrounding greenery making everything feel calm and unhurried.
It is a simple sight, but one that carries a deep sense of belonging for me.
Life Around the Ponds
The village has two separate ponds for the family, and both are closely connected with our everyday life.
Fishing is not simply a livelihood here. It is also part of the food, the tradition, and the landscape.
There is something very different about seeing a pond that belongs to a household and knowing that beneath its quiet surface is part of the family’s own source of food.
The water reflects the sky, the trees lean towards it, and life continues quietly around it.
A village pond may look ordinary to someone passing by.
But when you grow familiar with it, you begin to see a whole world within it.
A Life Rooted in the Soil
Agriculture and fishing are among the main occupations in our village.
Our family also has agricultural land, fish ponds, and a vegetable garden where different crops are grown throughout the year.
This is one of the things I admire most about rural life in Bangladesh.
People here remain closely connected to the land.
The food that appears on the table often begins much earlierโwith a seed placed into the soil, a field cared for through changing seasons, or a pond patiently maintained over time.
There is something deeply grounding about that relationship.
The Orchard Around Home
Our homestead also has many familiar fruit treesโmango, guava, lemon, jackfruit and amlaโalong with different seasonal vegetables.
These trees are more than part of the landscape.
They are part of the memories of the house.
The shade, the changing leaves, the fruit appearing with the seasonsโthese small details give a village home a character that is difficult to recreate anywhere else.
In the city, greenery is often something we deliberately seek.
Here, it simply grows around you.
The First Light of Morning
There is a quiet beauty in the village at sunrise. As the first light spreads across the fields and rooftops, the landscape slowly comes alive.
The mist begins to lift, birds move through the trees, and the soft morning light settles gently over the familiar surroundings. I especially love photographing these early moments, when everything feels fresh and untouched, before the village fully begins its day.
When the Day Comes to an End
By evening, the same landscape takes on an entirely different character. The sunlight becomes warmer, the fields turn golden, and long shadows stretch across the ground.
I often find myself slowing down at this hour, simply watching the changing sky and the last light falling over the trees and rooftops. For me, sunset is less about the spectacle of the sky and more about that quiet transition between a busy day and the stillness of evening.
Rain in the Village
Rain has a different charm in the village. The tin roofs begin to hum softly, the ponds ripple under the falling drops, and the trees seem to deepen into richer shades of green. I love watching these moments, camera in hand, noticing how ordinary village scenes are transformed by a passing shower.
Seasonal Flowers of the Village
One of the simple pleasures of village life is seeing seasonal flowers appear in their own time. Along the paths, around the homesteads and beside the fields, familiar blooms add quiet touches of colour to the landscape.
They are not cultivated for display; they simply grow with the seasons, becoming a natural part of everyday village life. I love photographing these modest flowers because they capture something wonderfully authentic about rural Bangladeshโthe beauty of nature, exactly as it is.
The Green Language of Rural Bangladesh
There is a popular saying that God made the village and man made the town.
I think about that whenever I spend time here.
Because the beauty of a Bangladeshi village is not limited to one particular view.
It is everywhere.
It is in the soft green of the trees, the endless fields of crops, the shade beside a village path, the quiet surface of a pond, the sound of rain on a tin roof, the distant call of birds, and the familiar rhythm of people going about their daily lives.
Even the simplest things seem to belong to a larger picture.
A tin-roofed home beneath a canopy of trees.
A narrow path disappearing between green fields.
A pond holding the reflection of the afternoon sky.
A farmer working in the distance.
Nothing is staged.
Nothing needs to be.
Seeing the Village Through a Camera
Perhaps this is why I keep photographing rural life.
A camera allows me to pause before a moment disappears.
It allows me to notice the details that I might otherwise pass without seeing.
Photography has taught me that beauty does not always announce itself.
Sometimes it waits quietly.
You simply have to look.
A Place That Still Feels Like Home
Every visit eventually comes to an end, but the feeling of the village stays with me.
Perhaps that is what I love most about rural Bangladesh.
Life here moves at a different pace.
The days are shaped by nature rather than by clocks and deadlines. The landscape changes with the seasons, but its character remains familiar.
And somewhere between the ponds, the fields, the trees, the little homes and the open sky, there is a kind of quietness that is becoming increasingly rare.
This is not simply a story about a village house.
It is a small portrait of a way of life.
A way of life where nature is not a backdrop to livingโ
nature is part of life itself.
And whenever I return, I find another reason to photograph it.
Assalamu Alaikum everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I am doing fine, Alhamdulillah. Today, I want to share a little story about my visit to my auntโs house, situated in a beautiful village in Bangladesh. ๐ง๐ฉ
There is a saying that the villages of Bangladesh look like beautiful paintings. And honestly, my auntโs village is no exception. Surrounded by greenery, ponds, flowers, and peaceful village roads, the place felt like a picture-perfect countryside escape. Let me take you along through some of the moments I captured during my visit.
My aunt’s ๐
One of the most beautiful things about village mornings during this season is the fog. After sunrise, a soft layer of mist covers the surroundings, creating a dreamy and peaceful atmosphere. Everything looks different in the early morningโquieter, softer, and somehow more beautiful.
My auntโs family has their own ponds where they cultivate fish. There is something special about eating fresh fish from a village pondโit simply tastes different. Besides providing fresh food, the pond also adds so much beauty to the surroundings. The peaceful water and the natural landscape made it one of my favourite views during the visit.
There was another pond beside the village road, filled with beautiful water lilies. In the morning, the flowers opened beautifully across the water, creating a lovely scene. I couldn’t resist stopping to admire them and capture the moment through my camera. Nature has a way of making even an ordinary village road feel magical.
My aunts also raise ducks, chickens, and turkeys at home. During my stay, I came across a particularly large turkey. It was quite a sight! Since I love turkey, my aunt was planning to prepare it for everyone, which made the visit even more memorable. These little experiences are part of what makes staying in a village so specialโthere is always something happening around you.
One morning, I woke up early and went for a long walk along the village road. The entire area was covered in fog, and I was completely fascinated by the atmosphere. I wanted to enjoy the moment as much as possible, so I started taking photographs of everything around me. Photography is one of the ways I hold on to these little moments.
While exploring the village, I also noticed that my aunts grow many of their own vegetables. I really loved seeing this simple, self-sufficient way of village life.
Morning view
My aunts also have several flowering plants around their home. The flowers added even more beauty to the house and made the entire surroundings feel colourful and alive. I especially loved seeing the radish flowers and mustard flowers blooming around the village. The bright flowers against the greenery were a beautiful reminder of how much beauty can be found in the simplest places.
Radish flower Mustard Flower
The afternoon was calm and quiet. The sun was still bright, but the surroundings were peaceful. I walked around the house and looked at the trees, plants, ponds, and the open sky.
There were many birds around the house. Some were sitting quietly on the branches, while others were flying from one tree to another. I spent some time watching them and, of course, took a few photographs.
Later in the evening, I went outside to enjoy the sunset. The sky slowly changed its colour as the sun began to go down. The warm evening light fell over the trees and the village, making everything look beautiful. I couldn’t miss the opportunity to capture the sunset with my camera.
A Little Piece of Village Life ๐
My visit to my auntโs house was not just a trip to the village. It was an opportunity to slow down, breathe fresh air, walk through the fog, enjoy nature, and appreciate the simple pleasures of rural life.
Sometimes, happiness is found in the quietest placesโa foggy morning, a pond filled with flowers, a village road, fresh vegetables, or simply spending time with family.
These are the moments I love to capture through my lens and keep as memories. Until my next story, keep enjoying the beauty of nature. ๐ฟ โ Farjana Nishita
After spending so much time at home during the pandemic, we finally decided to take a short family trip to Coxโs Bazar. It was only a few days, but the journey gave us many little moments that I still love remembering.
The Journey Begins
Our journey started at night. We left home around 11 pm, carrying the excitement of finally getting away for a few days. The road was quiet, and most of the journey passed under the darkness of the night.
On the Way to Coxโs Bazar
As the journey continued, I kept looking outside whenever I was awake. Travelling by road always gives me a chance to watch the changing scenery, even when there isn’t anything particularly extraordinary to see.
Arriving at the Hotel
We reached Coxโs Bazar in the morning and went to our hotel after getting off the bus. We were tired from the overnight journey, but the excitement of being there made us forget the tiredness.
Ocean Paradise Hotel
Our Room
After checking in, we entered our room and immediately looked outside. We had booked a mountain-view room, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that we could also see the sea from there.
The View from the Window
There was a large window in the corridor with a beautiful view. I could see the sea and the surrounding landscape from there, and naturally, I couldn’t resist taking a photograph.
Breakfast
After resting and freshening up, we went downstairs for breakfast. There were so many items in the buffet that we wanted to taste everything. Of course, we couldn’t manage thatโbut we certainly enjoyed our breakfast!
Time at the Swimming Pool
Later, we went to the swimming pool. My husband, our little daughter and I spent some time there together. It was our daughter’s first experience in a swimming pool, and she enjoyed it so much that she didn’t want to leave.
Heading Towards the Beach
In the afternoon, we finally headed towards the beach. We walked around the area, enjoyed the fresh air, and bought a huge coconut on our way.
Coxโs Bazar Beach
And then we finally reached the sea. The sound of the waves, the open horizon and the evening breeze instantly made the long journey feel worthwhile.
Walking Beside the Sea
We spent some time walking along the shore. Our daughter was a little frightened by the sound of the waves, but we stayed close to her and enjoyed the evening together.
Sunset
As the sun slowly moved towards the horizon, the light became softer and warmer. We stayed by the beach to watch the sunset and capture those beautiful final moments of daylight.
A New Morning
The next morning, after breakfast, we got ready to visit Inani Beach. We left around 9 am and started our journey along Marine Drive.
Marine Drive
The road to Inani was one of my favourite parts of the journey. With the sea on one side and hills on the other, I kept looking outside and taking photographs whenever I could.
Marine Drive Road View
Inani Beach
We reached Inani Beach around 10 am. It was quieter than the main beach, and I really enjoyed the more peaceful atmosphere.
Enjoying the Time
We spent some time playing in the seawater. Our daughter enjoyed the beach again, happily exploring the water and surroundings.
The, blue water and bright sunlight created a beautiful natural scene. I spent some time photographing the details around me before we headed back.
Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute
On our way back, we stopped at the Bangladesh Oceanographic Research Institute. As someone with an academic background in marine science, visiting the institute was especially meaningful to me.
BORI
Evening at the Hotel
After returning to the hotel, we spent some time resting. Later, we went up to the rooftop restaurant to enjoy the evening atmosphere.
Rooftop Restaurant
The rooftop looked beautiful at night, with the lights and the view surrounding us. We had planned to have dinner there, but our little daughter wasn’t very comfortable with the dark surroundings, so we eventually decided to leave.
Our Last Morning
On our final day, we went to the beach one more time. The morning atmosphere was completely different from the eveningโquieter, fresher and much more peaceful.
One Last Look at the Sea
Before leaving Coxโs Bazar, I took one last look at the sea. Knowing that we were going home made me want to remember the view a little longer.
Leaving Coxโs Bazar
Around noon, we checked out of the hotel and headed towards the airport for our 1:35 pm flight.
It was time to say goodbye.
Going Home
Our short trip had come to an end, but we were taking home many beautiful memoriesโa long journey, a first swimming-pool experience for our daughter, the sea, sunset, Inani, Marine Drive, and all the little moments in between.
Coxโs Bazar was more than just a destination this time.
It was a few beautiful days spent together as a family. โค๏ธ
Colour! To me, It’s not just a small word of two letters โฆ. Colour since childhood! I mean whatever the colour, it was my very favourite. So when I was in school, I understood that colour means the colour pencil and I loved coloured pencil very much! I often thought that how beautiful is the colour pencil! All black and white pictures can be coloured in an instant โฆ. I would like to colour all the white pictures of the textbooks myself, and I would be fascinated to draw with them. In fact, I used to draw very bad pictures, so I used to paint the pictures drawn in the book โฆ Of course, if I drew good pictures, I would have become a painter by now. To me, the meaning of colour, language, whatever I say, was then limited to colour pencils and the classification of colour was limited to beniasahkala. Then as I got older I discovered another wonderful meaning of colourโฆ which was nature !! The colour of which sticks to every point! The colour that gave the feeling of happiness โฆ that colour! I feel like writing the first poem โฆ I keep looking for the rhythm in each colour. I have written many poems after seeing the blue colour of the sky and it is still written, everyone writes. How colourful is the nature of this planet! How many thousands of colours are there can be felt in reading the poems of famous or unknown poets or in some extraordinary paintings painted by artists โฆ So I was completely engrossed in the colours of this nature as a teenager. Then as I got older, my definition of colour seemed incomplete โฆ. Little by little, I learned to understand that I am fascinated by colour! The special part of it was unknown to me โฆ I never found ‘life’ in the middle of colourโฆ.. Ever since I started recognizing the meaning of survival I have been looking for another colour..! The colour of life! As a result, I found a new classification of colours beyond Beniasahkala – the colour of happiness, the colour of suffering, the colour of relationships, the colour of love, the colour of hate โฆAfter so many things, now I can see and touch the colours of life โฆ. Now I know, the colour of life! The truth about it !! “No life on earth is black or white, everyone has a lot of coloured pencils.” But of life, some may not know this truth, some may know and hide it again. There are some who do not want to paint themselves or wait for someone else to paint them. Since no one in the world has brought for light-years so as long as one survives, one should colour one’s life with the blue colour of the sky in the palm of one’s hand or the colour of love in one’s heart or colour the life of others โฆ.
A long time ago, a forest flower blossomed in a forest, her parents named their dear daughter Nava with love. Nova means the sky which has no limits. Like the name, she created her own world which was surrounded by endless dreams.
One day the parents heard her the story of a new fancy world. They brought a new dream butterfly with great enthusiasm. Nova extended her hand towards the dream with some surprise and emotion.
But alas! Where is that butterfly !! There were only lots of terrible spiders! Eventually, The helpless Nava imprisoned in that spider web โฆ
One winter morning in 2017, I was on a sea voyage, while waiting for my ship I was ssitting on a bamboo bench . Suddenly I saw him walking, I didn’t understand at first, I was surprised to think that the old man is so short !! Later I saw he was hunched over. I’ve never seen any hunchbacked walking so close before. I was staring at him as he walked away and I felt like a man carrying all the burdens of life on his back โฆ
Well friends, you can call me an anthophile!! a person who loves and appreciate flowers very much. I remember being excited every time seeing flowers from my childhood…
here some quotes of flowers with my captured flowersโฅโฅ

I love nature and want to write about it, but I don’t know if I have enough words so I speculated, a picture can possess a perfect expression of the awesomeness of nature.
Most of us must have heard about the saying that, โBeauty lies in the eyes of Beholder”
and as a nature lover, I happened to find beauty everywhere, as for example even in the tiny flower on my yard or a single drop of rain, or even just a bird flying in the sky. I have always get wondered by the colors of flowers, the sparkle of the sunny sky, the green leaves of trees, and the blue wave of the ocean. And I think a perfect capture can describe nature more beautifully.
From childhood, being around nature gives me the most pleasure. I always have an appetite for exploring the mystery of mother nature. That’s why I started writing poems that consist mostly of natural terms. I also have started to read all the poems about nature and some of my favorite lines are.
I wandered lonely as a cloud That floats on high o’er vales and hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host, of golden daffodils; Beside the lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
By – William Wordsworth
Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down today. Nothing gold can stay.
By- Robert Frost
God, when you chiseled a raindrop, How did you think of a stem, Bearing a lovely satin leaf To hold the tiny gem? How did you know a million drops Would deck the morning’s hem?
By- Angela Morgan
I believe that nature has power, the power to heal. It can heal the wounded mind and the hurt soul. When I woke up early morning and witness the sunrise with the chirping birds and trust me that’s the true healing for any upset mind. The morning breeze will clear your thoughts and free you from all the worries of your life. You will be able to pass the day with positive energy and enthusiasm.
And nature is life or I could say nature is full of lives. Anybody who cherishes the living will be able to feel the bliss in his/her life. Even I have experienced it on my own. A flying butterfly has the power to make your mood and make you feel that life is beautiful and exciting.
Nature has always been my greatest inspiration to my poetry, and photography. I intend to click every moment of nature and to get lost to its serenity. And being a photographer I can say that nature is the best subject that anybody can possibly have.
